Measurement Services

Measuring the Right ThingsMosaic’s Measurement Services are designed to establish an ongoing  measurement program that will give management the hard quantitative  information that is needed to make informed decisions.  Typical engagements include:

  • Testable Requirements Sizing: Measure the size of a system using testable requirements as the sizing measure.

  • Custom Measurement Program: Establish an ongoing measurement program that will give management the hard quantitative information that is needed to make informed decisions.

Why Mosaic is Different:

  • Mosaic offers testable requirements as an alternative to function points and lines-of-code to size software systems.  Testable requirements is a practical measure for system size that is intuitive, easily implemented and flexible.  To facilitate the sizing process, Mosaic offers a sizing tool called TR Sizer. Visit  www.testablerequirements.com for more information on testable requirements sizing.

  • Mosaic has successfully applied earned value management (EVM) to software development projects.  EVM integrates the measure of work accomplished with schedule and cost measures to provide a realistic view of the project status.  Our expertise in quality assurance, software development processes and measurement provides the tools to overcome the limitations that have been slowing the acceptance of EVM for software development.

  • Mosaic managed a joint research effort with the Quality Assurance Institute to identify best practices in defect management.  The insights gained during that project are integrated into our measurement services.  Visit www.defectmanagement.com for more information on defect management.
